This half day course is designed for those who are new to either working in or with the voluntary and community sector.
It will help you understand how the sector works, the various legal forms of organisations, issues of governance and sustainability so that you are able to work more effectively within the sector and understand its funding needs.

If using sat-nav, please use the following postcode: SS7 1TF. This should take you down the right hand side of the council building (i.e. the council offices are on the left). There is a large sign in the car park that points out that the White House building is to the right and at the back of the car park. You should then follow the signs around the left hand side of the White House building to Marie Curie/CAVS. Please go up the stairs and CAVS are through the door to the right marked CAVS. Reception is signposted from there to the right once through the door.
CAVS are in the building that is labelled Carers Choices – the building labelled SS7 1TF is the council offices.

On-road parking is available nearby in Runnymede Chase, though is quite restricted, so it is recommended that you arrive at your course with plenty of time to spare.
The training room is located on the first floor. There is no lift available. Staff at the site can assist less mobile attendees.
