This full-day course is designed for both experienced and new writers of grant applications who want to practice their techniques under the guidance of a professional and experienced fundraiser/trainer and learn new skills.
The workshop addresses key points in fundraising and is a practical session whereby participants can work on a real application they are developing to key funders which might include Awards for All (small grants), National Lottery Community Fund or bids to the major Trusts; alternatively, a simulated application is provided to address questions/responses people find tricky to answer !
- Funder drivers i.e. identifying funder priorities and how best to meet them
- Constructing an effective application/framing a bid: analysis and development of the key sections and headers which make for effective grant applications
- Target setting – understanding and setting outcomes, outputs and planning ahead
- Accurate and innovative budgeting techniques
- General writing tips

The Rainbow Centre

There is a small multi storey car park opposite the Rainbow Centre and it is a short walk from Harlow Town Centre and a 10 minute walk from Harlow Town train station (Greater Anglia – Liverpool Street to Stansted/Cambridge).
Access to the training room can be via Rainbow reception, but it also has a side ramped entrance for anyone with mobility issues.
